Taylor Barnard is looking to bounce back after a few tough races. The 21-year-old is in his second year as a full-time Formula E driver and moved to DS Penske this season following NEOM McLaren’s exit from the electric racing series.
The Briton has now shared a post setting the tone for the next round – the Berlin E-Prix. The event is a double-header, scheduled from 1-3 May.
Taylor Barnard upbeat ahead of Berlin E-Prix
Taking to Instagram on Friday, Taylor Barnard shared a series of pictures of himself and the DS Penske car ahead of the Berlin E-Prix. He wrote, “Six rounds in and plenty still to come. Not everything has gone our way so far, but every race is a chance to learn and move closer to where we want to be.
Plenty of positives to take so far and we’re working hard to come back stronger in Berlin in three weeks.”A comment from Formula E’s official Instagram page read: “See you in Berlin.” Encouraging him, one fan wrote: “Can’t wait for Berlin – definitely going to be a good one, I can feel it.” Another added: “We believe in you.”
Earlier in the day, Barnard also unveiled the new DS Penske merchandise alongside team-mate Maximilian Gunther.
Taylor Barnard’s performances last season and this year
Taylor Barnard finished fourth and sixth in the two races at the Berlin double-header last year. Jaguar TCS Racing secured a clean sweep, with Mitch Evans winning the first race and Nick Cassidy taking victory in the second. Cassidy has since moved to a new team, Citroen Racing.Barnard has struggled for consistency during his maiden season with DS Penske. He did secure a fourth-place finish at the Mexico City E-Prix earlier this year but slipped down the order in the races that followed. He also retired from the most recent race in Madrid.
