NASHIK: Six men arrested by the Nashik police in connection with cases of sexual harassment at an IT company are likely to be arrested on Monday in other cases registered against them, the police said on Saturday.The police are also working to trace the location of a woman employee, whose whereabouts are unknown, since the first case was registered against her.ACP (crime) Sandeep Mitke, who is heading the special investigation team (SIT) set up by police commissioner Sandeep Karnik, said, “We have arrested a total of seven people, including a woman HR officer of the IT company, in all the nine cases that have been registered with the police.
While the woman was arrested on Friday and is in police custody till April 13, the other six men are in judicial custody. They will be transferred in other cases on Monday for interrogation.
“Barring the HR officer arrested on Friday, the remaining accused figure in different cases as well out of the total nine cases registered by the police.The police have made arrests in three cases so far, and the SIT is to take custody of the suspects in other cases as well.
ACP Mitke added that another woman employee, who was a co-accused in the first case of sexual assault and hurting religious feelings, has been on the run since the complaint was registered on March 25.He said the SIT is working to trace her location through technical analysis and by gathering intelligence. Mitke said it is a matter of time before she is arrested.The SIT formed to investigate the nine cases comprises 11 officers, including ACP Mitke, 10 inspectors, assistant inspector, sub-inpectors, and constable.
