Actor Ram Pothineni expresses comfort with his single status, viewing it as a natural state of being rather than a conscious choice. He finds peace and enjoyment in his own company, even amidst the constant social demands of the film industry. The pandemic’s extended solitude further reinforced his contentment with being alone, highlighting his ability to thrive independently.
In an industry that thrives on noise, one of the city’s most eligible bachelors says he is quite comfortable being alone, on his own terms, of course. For Ram Pothineni, singlehood is less a label and more a state of being.“I’ve always been comfortable being alone. That’s been true ever since I was a kid. I genuinely enjoy my own company. I enjoy being around friends and other people too — even strangers — but I equally value time spent with myself. Solitude gives me peace,” he says. And in an industry where solitude is often a luxury, Ram seems to have found his own rhythm within the chaos. “In this industry, you’re constantly surrounded by people, constantly engaging, constantly interacting.
I enjoy that as well… but at the same time, I know I’m comfortable doing my own thing too.”Even the extended quiet of the pandemic, he says, didn’t rattle him. “I spent almost a year and a half by myself… just chilling, doing what I liked. I don’t complain either way.” So, is singlehood a choice or just a state of being? For Ram, it’s neither here nor there. “If someone comes along, I’m happy to spend time with them. If not, I’m equally content being alone… it’s not a conscious choice. It’s just how I am.”
