Engineers’ association moves CM over demands

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Engineers’ Service Association (OESA) on Sunday urged CM Mohan Charan Majhi to take swift action to resolve long-pending issues affecting govt engineers, stating that timely intervention would boost morale and accelerate the state’s development. The association submitted a memorandum to the CM on the sidelines of the 54th Council Biennial General Body Meeting and Federal Council Meeting, which ended here on Sunday. Among the key demands is the creation of appropriate technical posts and appointment of engineers to senior positions, including secretaries in engineering departments, as was previously decided by a cabinet committee in 2011.The association further demanded an increase in direct recruitment quota for assistant executive engineers from 60% to 75% to attract fresh talent, and regular recruitment through the Odisha Public Service Commission to address large-scale vacancies at entry levels.
