A candid conversation between Alia Bhatt and Sadhguru has gained attention due to its innovative approach towards parenting. Rather than concentrating on teaching their children, Sadhguru suggested that the actress should learn from her daughter, Raha Kapoor.
At Jain International Trade Organisation (JITO) Chennai Plus, a program titled In Conversation With The Mystic had Alia Bhatt and spiritual leader Sadhguru talk about parenting. As part of the discussion in one segment, Alia put forward a question to which many parents can relate: “What would you advise a worried parent to ensure they are being good parents?”Sadhguru answered in very clear terms: “A worried parent will never be a good parent.”
He mentioned that being worried will not help the child but only affect the parents. But Alia had her point too and said that it is not easy to get rid of worry when you are a parent.“When you have a child, drop this idea that you have to teach something. I know you are awonderful woman, but between you and your 3.5-year-old daughter, who is more joyful?” asked Sadhguru. Alia said, “Raha.” He explained that parents should instead act as consultants for life.
“What is there for you to teach?” he later asked. “You must let them. You must watch,” he said, adding, “A child is much closer to life than you are.”Why it matters In today’s world, parenting tends to be more about comparisons, societal pressure, and the anxiety of making mistakes. In this regard, Sadhguru’s guidance presents a very interesting yet soothing idea. The concept of less anxiety is especially applicable as most parents tend to face an overwhelming amount of expectation. It is important to note that children themselves tend to have much easier access to joy. They are curious and present while being free from any fears or social conditioning._____++__Alia Bhatt’s conversation with Sadhguru touched an any hearts because it offered a new perspective on the act of parenthood. While a parent teaches her child, she may also learn from him, in terms of happiness, mindfulness, and simplicity. Ultimately, there’s an important lesson to take away from this: rather than striving to be the perfect parent, maybe one should try being mindful and less anxious.
