Zero making charges, complimentary gold coins: Dubai jewellers amp up offers ahead of Akshaya Tritiya

Ahead of the Hindu festival of Akshaya Tritiya, or Akha Teej, gold jewellers in Dubai have slashed making charges and amped up offers, such as complimentary gold coins, to attract customers on the eve. The festival, to be celebrated on April 19, 2026, is an auspicious day in the Hindu calendar believed to bring prosperity, success and good fortune.

It is considered to be one of the most favourable days to begin new adventures, make investments or purchase valuable assets such as gold and jewellery.

Gold jewellers reveal offers

Malabar Gold and Diamonds has introduced free cash vouchers on every diamond and precious gemstone jewellery purchase worth Dh3,000 up to 40% off diamond value and gold jewellery making charges on selected designs. Moreover, it is also offering zero-loss exchange on old 22J gold jewellery purchased from any store. Arakkal Gold and Diamonds is offering 80% on gold jewellery making charges and diamond jewellery. Customers purchasing diamond jewellery worth Dh3,500 will receive a complimentary half-gram gold coin on purchases before May 5, 2026. Siroya jewellers is offering up to 70% off on diamond jewellery including natural and lab-grown diamonds along with zero making charges on selected gold items. In times of regional stress during the US-Israel-Iran war, the UAE economy has suffered to some extent.

Now, the reduction of making charges is aimed at boosting sales while also offering some control to the customers.

Akshaya Tritiya in Dubai

UAE has an estimated population of 4.3 million Indian expats, as of 2024. They make the largest ethnic community in the country and thus drive a massive footfall to the markets during their cultural celebrations. Considering the emirate’s reputation as a global gold trading hub, there is a noticeable surge in sales during the festival due to the large South Asian expatriate population.
