Schools with over 90% results also saw a significant jump, rising by 75% from 529 to 924, indicating broader improvement across the system. As seen at the national level, girls outperformed boys. Girls recorded a pass percentage of 97.37%, compared to 97.09% for boys.

He said the gains were visible across the entire network of govt schools, rather than being limited to a few high-performing institutions.
“Learning outcomes across govt schools have shown consistent and measurable improvement, reflecting the depth of this transformation,” he said.Highlighting the performance of girls, Sood said the govt remains committed to ensuring that access is never a barrier to education. He pointed to a Rs 90 crore provision to provide free bicycles to around 1.3 lakh girls in Class IX, aimed at improving access and retention. He added that such results are built over time through investments in infrastructure and learning environments. “This year, 9,000 smart classrooms have been set up, with a larger target of 21,000, along with 175 modern computer labs and 125 digitised libraries. The aim is to ensure equitable access to technology for all students,” he said.Delhi govt also highlighted the role of 75 CM SHRI Schools, which are being developed as model institutions with upgraded infrastructure and a stronger focus on future-ready learning.
These schools are being equipped with facilities such as AI-enabled language labs, career guidance labs and improved digital classrooms to support skill-based and experiential education, moving beyond a purely exam-centric approach.Backed by an education budget of Rs 19,148 crore, the govt said it is continuing to invest in infrastructure, digital access and teacher support systems. The focus, according to officials, remains on creating equitable learning environments that strengthen student confidence, build capability and support overall development across the school system.
