YADGIR: At least six people were killed and some others injured in a road accident following a head-on collision between a car and a private bus that triggered a massive blaze in Karnataka’s Yadgir district on Friday.Six occupants of the car were burnt alive, while locals managed to rescue two others from the vehicle.The injured sustained serious burns and have been shifted to a hospital.According to police, the incident took place near Devapur in Surpur taluk, within the jurisdiction of Surpur police station.Preliminary reports suggest that the car was travelling from Yadgir towards Raichur when it collided with a private bus heading from Bengaluru to Kalaburagi.The impact of the collision was so severe that both vehicles caught fire instantly. The car was completely gutted in the blaze, killing all six occupants on the spot.Fire and emergency services personnel rushed to the scene and brought the flames under control.
