The pilot episode of filmmaker Dave Sidhu’s upcoming series Bhole Ki Bhool, which serves as the first episode of the series, was showcased at a special test screening on February 11 at Reading Cinemas, Australia.
The screening was attended by several independent filmmakers and creative professionals.
Only the pilot episode was screened at the event, with no additional episodes presented.The pilot establishes the thematic foundation of the series and features veteran actor Govind Namdev in the role of Lord Shiva (Bhole). His portrayal is marked by restraint and symbolic depth, offering a calm and composed representation that anchors the moral framework of the narrative.
The contrast between divine detachment and human weakness is central to the episode’s storytelling.Filmmaker Dave Sidhu, who has directed the project while also managing multiple creative responsibilities, appears on screen as Pujari, a temple priest whose inner greed becomes the driving force of the conflict. Sidhu’s performance stood out during the screening for its consistency and control, particularly given his dual role behind and in front of the camera.
Despite handling direction and performance simultaneously, his portrayal remains seamless, with no visible discontinuity in character or emotional arc.The greed within the Pujari’s character is conveyed subtly, emerging through behaviour and decision-making rather than overt dramatics. This internalisation allows the character’s moral decline to feel organic and grounded. Written by Raahi, the pilot presents a contrasting tale in which Pujari’s ambition and material obsession lead to disorder, while the character of Iyer, guided by humility and kindness, attains genuine fulfilment.
Through this contrast, the episode highlights the consequences of unchecked ambition versus the stabilising power of selflessness.As the opening chapter of Bhole Ki Bhool, the pilot explores human fallibility in the presence of faith without overt sermonisation. Sidhu’s acting experience, shaped through independent and character-driven projects such as Pareshaan Parinda (2018), is evident in the psychological realism of his performance, which anchors the episode’s emotional weight.The pilot also features an original devotional title track, Bam Bhole Re, which was released across all major music streaming platforms on 28 January 2026. The song’s lyrics are penned by Raahi, with vocals by Srajan Shrivastava, and music composed by Yash Soni. The track complements the spiritual tone of the series and has been integrated into the narrative framework of the pilot.The technical execution of the episode is supported by Sachin Gour, who handled editing and visual effects supervision, while Yash Soni also contributed to the sound design. Together, the technical elements reinforce the series’ restrained and grounded aesthetic.Following the Australia test screening, the makers have indicated that Bhole Ki Bhool is slated for an OTT release towards the end of February. At present, no further details regarding upcoming episodes have been disclosed.
