Reportedly, the Ayurveda Medical Association of India (AMAI) has taken a firm stance against the film’s portrayal. The organization also said that the scene sends a misleading message and undermines the credibility of Ayurveda practices.Reports from the same portal says that it has officially announced plans to initiate legal proceedings against the makers of ‘Vaazha 2’.
Doctors voice concerns on ‘Vaazha 2’ scene
Even before the legal announcement, Ayurveda doctors had been actively criticizing the scene on social media platforms. Several practitioners highlighted the issue and called for responsible representation of traditional medicine in cinema.The makers of ‘Vaazha 2’ have not yet issued an official response to the controversy.
Box office performance of the Hashir starrer
Despite the controversy, ‘Vaazha 2’ continues to perform well at the box office. As reported by Sacnilk, the Hashir starrer has collected Rs 99.35 crore India net so far.Its India gross stands at Rs 114.93 crore, while overseas collections add Rs 76.40 crore. This brings the total worldwide gross to Rs 191.33 crore.On day 14, the second Wednesday, the film earned Rs 4.85 crore net from 1,511 shows at 62.0 percent occupancy. Day 15, the third Thursday, saw collections of Rs 3.85 crore net from 1,380 shows at 51.0 percent occupancy.

The film features social media personalities like Hashir and his gang, along with Al Ameen in key roles. The supporting cast includes Alphonse Puthren, Aju Varghese, Vijay Babu, and Sudheesh.Directed by debutant Savin S A, the film is written by Vipin Das.The team has also announced a third installment, with ‘Vaazha 3’ focusing on girls and described as “a biopic of one billion girls.,” directed by Vishnu Sreejith.
