Yaadein is melting hearts with Dr. Dev Mehta’s (Iqbal Khan) heartfelt journey of bouncing back, staying strong, and piecing life together after blanking out 8 whole years of memories. Sure, the show nails those intricate on-screen relationships, but it’s the real, unscripted behind-the-scenes magic that adds that extra glow of warmth.Iqbal Khan recently gave us a peek into his fun off-camera life, which feels like an extension of his own. Get this—his on-screen daughter Gia Mehta (Harleen Rupani) is about the same age as his real daughter, so their chemistry flows naturally, whether cameras are rolling or not. On breaks, what started as chit-chat turned into hilarious lessons: his young co-star schooled him in Gen Z slang! From nailing quirky phrases to getting the vibe just right, Iqbal ended up as the eager student, soaking it all up with a grin.Speaking about this, Iqbal Khan shared, “It’s been such a fun and unexpected part of shooting for Yaadein. My on-screen daughter is almost the same age as my real daughter, so there’s an instant comfort and camaraderie we share. During our breaks, she often introduces me to all these Gen Z phrases and slang. I genuinely enjoy learning them. What’s even more amusing is when I go back home with this ‘new knowledge’ and casually use these phrases with my daughter, she’s completely taken aback, wondering how I suddenly know all this.
It leads to some really funny and sweet moments between us. I think it’s a lovely way of bridging that generational gap, even if it’s just through language.”
