54yo man dies of heart attack while boarding train at Tundla
Agra: A 54-year-old man from West Bengal who stayed in Delhi died after suffering a suspected heart attack while attempting to board a train at Tundla Junction in Firozabad in the early hours of Monday.
He ran a fast-food outlet in the Delhi Cantt area.Pritam Tiryuva was travelling with his wife, Monika Roy, to their hometown, Darjeeling, on the Brahmaputra Mail. He had stepped down at the station, and while boarding it, he fell due to a heart attack. A video of the incident, widely circulated on social media, shows Tiryuva being dragged alongside the moving train as Railway Protection Force (RPF) personnel rushed to rescue him.As the train arrived at the station, Tiryuva tried to board a coach but suffered a heart attack and collapsed on the platform. As the train had already begun moving, his clothes got entangled in the coach’s footboard or gate.RPF personnel on duty immediately alerted the train guard and ensured that emergency brakes were applied to bring the train to a halt.Despite their efforts, Tiryuva could not be saved. He was pulled out from beneath the train after considerable effort, but had already succumbed. The doctor on duty declared him dead.RPF company commander Awadhesh Goswami said, “The body has been sent for postmortem, and the deceased’s sons, who reside in Delhi, have been informed.”
