Tesla has expanded its India lineup with the launch of a new long-wheelbase version of the Tesla Model Y. Called the Model Y L Premium, this new variant brings a larger body, a three-row cabin, and an all-wheel-drive setup.
It is priced at Rs 61.99 lakh, ex-showroom.

The Model Y L measures 4,969 mm in length, 1,982 mm in width (2,129 mm with mirrors extended), and 1,668 mm in height. The wheelbase has been stretched to accommodate a third row, enabling a 2+2+2 seating layout for up to six occupants. Tesla has also focused on usability, offering a boot capacity of up to 2,539 litres with the rear seats folded, along with a 116-litre front trunk.Powering the Model Y L is a dual-motor setup that delivers all-wheel drive. It is paired with a battery pack that offers a claimed WLTP range of 681 km on a single charge. The SUV is capable of accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.0 seconds. The model also supports fast charging via Tesla’s Supercharger network, with a peak capacity of 250 kW. Under ideal conditions, the company claims that up to 288 km of range can be added in just 15 minutes.

Inside, key features include a 16-inch touchscreen up front and an additional 8-inch display for second-row passengers. The front seats are power-adjustable and come with heating, ventilation, and thigh support, while the second-row seats offer heating and power-folding functions. Other highlights include ambient lighting, multi-zone climate control, and powered air vents. Buyers can choose between all-black and Zen Grey interior themes, with the latter available at an additional cost.On the technology front, the Model Y L comes equipped with eight exterior cameras, second-generation onboard hardware, and multiple connected features. It also supports in-car entertainment through Tesla Theater, offering access to apps like Netflix and YouTube, along with gaming support via Arcade. Additional convenience features include a hands-free powered tailgate and app-based remote controls.Safety equipment includes automatic emergency braking, forward collision warning, blind-spot monitoring, and lane departure avoidance. The SUV also gets heated seats, a heated steering wheel, an advanced air filtration system, and driver profile settings.The Model Y L is available in six exterior colours, including Stealth Grey, Pearl White, Diamond Black, Glacier Blue, Ultra Red, and Cosmic Silver, with additional charges applicable on most shades.
