CHENNAI: After all they have been through this season, Mohammedan Sporting will head home satisfied with a 0-0 draw against Chennaiyin FC in the Indian Super League at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium on Tuesday. It began with a series of three corners, the last of which saw Makan Chothe whip in a curling cross from the left towards an unmarked Hira Mondal. At the far post, the defender stretched to guide the ball goalward but goalkeeper Mohammed Nawaz produced a fingertip save to deny the effort.

Nawaz came to Chennaiyin’s rescue on a couple of occasions and kept the score board in check.
Meanwhile, despite creating chances, CFC lacked the finishing touch in the final third.In the second half, Chennaiyin attempted to build from the back but Md Sporting stood firm with a well-organised back four. Midfielder Alberto Noguera dropped deep, which limited his creative influence. CFC coach Clifford Miranda turned to his bench, bringing on fresh legs Inigo Martin and ‘local lad’ S. Prakadeswaran, yet the home side struggled to break through.
