Paul Pierce informed the court that he is the father of King Rafael Santiago Pierce, a decision that follows a paternity suit filed earlier this year by Princess Santiago.
The Los Angeles-based event planner had initially sought a court-ordered DNA test, aiming to establish paternity before the child was born.

Now that confirmation is in place, Pierce has requested joint legal and physical custody. His filing signals a desire to be actively involved in the child’s life, though it stands in contrast to Santiago’s position. She has asked for sole custody, along with significant financial support.
“For nine months, I went through this pregnancy alone — no financial support, no in-person presence from Paul. Now that the DNA test confirms he’s the father, he’s seeking joint custody?” Santiago said.

According to reports, Santiago is seeking $29,811 per month in child support, along with $100,000 in legal fees and nearly $19,000 to cover pregnancy-related expenses. Court filings reference his career earnings, which are estimated between $195 million and $203 million during his time in the league.
The numbers have been used to justify the scale of the support request.Santiago has also stated that she made efforts to resolve the matter privately before turning to legal action, framing the lawsuit as a step toward accountability.
