Lucknow: Ghazipur district administration imposed prohibitory orders under Section 163 till Apr 30, banning all protests, processions and entry of political delegations in view of tensions following the Apr 15 case of Nisha Vishwakarma’s death in Kataria village.
On Friday, SP chief Akhilesh Yadav announced his plan to visit Karanda on Apr 29.District magistrate Anupam Shukla said the move was necessitated amid attempts by certain groups to politicise the incident and concerns over possible law and order disturbances. Under the order, no gathering, demonstration, candle march, or slogan-shouting will be permitted across the district. Entry of individuals or delegations intending to protest has also been restricted, as also, visits to Kataria village for expressing sympathy to the bereaved.Police warned that anyone spreading rumours related to the case would face action under relevant provisions of BNS.
