Microsoft Outlook down: What the company has to say on the outage

Microsoft Outlook has suffered a major global outage as thousands of professionals in the US began their work on Monday (April 27). According to reports, the employees met with “Account Not Authenticated” messages after a disruption began early in the day, leaving them unable to access their inboxes during peak business hours.As per reporting site Downdetector, more than 1000 formal reports have been made with 68% of users stating they are completely unable to log in. Others reported problems with the app and receiving messages.

Microsoft has officially acknowledged the issue, classifying it as a “service degradation” on its Service Health dashboard. Microsoft’s engineering teams are working to resolve the infrastructure glitch.

The company has not confirmed the exact cause.“We’re investigating an issue where users may be experiencing intermittent issues accessing http://Outlook.com,” the company said.“We’ve discovered some users may experience intermittent sign‑in failures, including “too many requests” errors, or unexpected sign‑outs. We’re analyzing service telemetry further to identify any potential next steps and mitigation actions,” it added.

Microsoft Copilot outage

Last week, Microsoft’s Copilot went down.“We’re investigating a potential issue that’s affecting Microsoft Copilot for personal use. We’re reviewing available data and will provide additional updates on the Service Health Status page,” the company said, before announcing that “Microsoft Copilot for personal use is remediated” after prolonged monitoring.
