Doc on contract removed for molesting patient

Lucknow: King George’s Medical University (KGMU) has removed a contractual doctor and a ward aide after a probe confirmed a woman patient’s molestation charge during an ultrasound in the urology department. The Kakori resident visited KGMU on April 1 and was advised ultrasound. She later accused the doctor, deployed through a private agency under the PPP model, of misconduct and filed a written complaint.A five-member committee recorded her statement and examined the case. “Based on the report, the agency-deployed doctor has been removed,” said spokesperson Dr K K Singh. He added that the ward aide was also terminated for not being present during the procedure.Officials said the incident has raised concerns over the PPP model under which private agencies run diagnostic machines in the hospital.
