A few hours ago, as per reports, as per filings made by TAS Rights Management, the billionaire pop star has made two filings on “sound marks” which will help trademark specific audio elements related to her performances.
This includes the phrases she frequently used in her performances as, “Hey, it’s Taylor Swift,” and “Hey, it’s Taylor”.But that’s not all; the billionaire pop star has made a third filing which is essentially a visual trademark.This trademark covers “a photograph of Taylor Swift holding a pink guitar, with a black strap and wearing a multi-colored iridescent bodysuit with silver boots. She is standing on a pink stage in front of a multi-colored microphone with purple lights in the background.”As per Variety, intellectual-property attorney Josh Gerben of Gerben IP commented on Taylor Swift’s filing as he said, “Theoretically, if a lawsuit were to be filed over an AI using Swift’s voice, she could claim that any use of her voice that sounds like the registered trademark violates her trademark rights…”However, neither the billionaire pop star nor her team has reacted to the news in public as she remains busy planning her wedding to the Kansas City Chiefs’ star player, Travis Kelce.
