Microsoft rolls out Copilot to Accenture’s 743,000 employees, its largest deployment to date

Microsoft is rolling out its Copilot 365 AI assistant to all of Accenture’s roughly 743,000 employees, marking one of the largest enterprise deployments of the tool so far. The rollout follows an earlier phase where the company tested Copilot with smaller groups before expanding it across the organisation.

As announced by Microsoft, Accenture began with a pilot involving a few hundred employees and later scaled it to around 20,000 users before moving to a wider rollout. The phased approach allowed the company to study usage patterns, set internal guidelines and prepare teams for broader adoption.Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella shared an X post announcing the rollout. “Super to see Accenture roll out 740,000+ M365 Copilot seats—our largest deployment to date!,” Nadella writes in the post.

Productivity gains reported

Accenture data cited by Microsoft shows that 97% of employees reported completing routine tasks faster using Copilot, while 53% said they saw improvements in productivity and efficiency.“Copilot is a personal digital colleague,” said Accenture Chief Information Officer Tony Leraris. “It changes the way our people work, the way they research, ideate, analyze and execute many daily activities.” Employees are using Copilot across tools such as Outlook, Teams and Word for tasks like drafting content, analysing data and managing workflows.

Microsoft said the integration of Copilot into existing workplace tools has helped increase adoption, as employees can use AI features within their regular work environment.Accenture has also used Copilot to build internal tools aimed at improving sales and customer engagement. According to the company, employees using these tools generated more sales opportunities compared to those who did not use them.Microsoft said the rollout is ongoing and will continue to expand as more teams adopt the AI assistant and new features are introduced.
