3,000 Hindu and Muslim women united in Muzaffarnagar to sing the national anthem.
AGRA: In a striking display of communal harmony, unity and patriotism, more than 3,000 Hindu and Muslim women gathered in Purkaji town of Muzaffarnagar to sing the national anthem in unison. Participants also paid tribute to the nation’s martyrs and pledged to ensure better education and moral upbringing for their children.The event, titled Purkaji Women’s Day–3, was organised by the nagar panchayat at a farmhouse on the Purkaji–Khaikheri road. Women from different communities and social backgrounds participated in large numbers, sitting together throughout the programme and collectively singing the national anthem and raising patriotic slogans.The programme was led by Purkazi Nagar Panchayat chairman Zaheer Farooqui, who is also state general secretary of Bharatiya Kisan Union.
Organisers said the turnout exceeded expectations, with attendance surpassing available seating, reflecting strong enthusiasm among women.Speakers at the event emphasised education, social values and equal opportunities for daughters. Among those present was social worker Yashika Chauhan, wife of MP Chandan Singh Chauhan, who praised the gathering as a rare example of women stepping forward in large numbers to promote unity and national pride.
