Three die as two bikes collide in Supaul

In a heart-wrenching incident on NH-327A in Supaul district, a devastating collision between two motorcycles resulted in the loss of three lives. Witnesses believe that excessive speed and reckless driving, with multiple riders crowded on each bike, played a significant role in the tragedy.

Patna: Three people lost their lives after two motorcycles collided head-on in Supaul district on Thursday. Two died on the spot while another succumbed to injuries during treatment.

The accident occurred on NH-327A near Nemanwa Chowk under the Kishanpur police station area.

Preliminary investigation suggests that speeding and negligence were the primary causes of the crash, police said.The deceased were identified as Vikki Kumar (22) and Brajesh Kumar (23), residents of Rajpur Ward-1 under the Kishanpur police station area. The third deceased had not been identified at the time of filing the report.

Meanwhile, Manibhushan Mandal (24), also from Rajpur, and another youth sustained serious injuries and were referred to Supaul Sadar Hospital for treatment.Eyewitnesses said the collision was so severe that both motorcycles were extensively damaged. Local residents informed the police immediately. On receiving information, Kishanpur SHO Gyan Ranjan reached the spot with police personnel, and with the assistance of villagers, ensured that the injured were taken to Sadar Hospital.

Police took custody of the three bodies and sent them for post-mortem examination.“Prima facie, the accident seems to have occurred due to high speed. There were 3 persons on 1 bike, and 2 on another. The eyewitnesses claimed that the bikers were doing stunts and driving rashly, which led to the accident. Further investigation is underway,” Kishanpur SHO Gyan Ranjan said.
