Oscar Awards: Nick Jonas spotted wearing a Kalava on his wrist as he supports wife Priyanka Chopra set to presenter for awards show

Everyone’s favourite ‘Jiju’, Nick Jonas took a moment to cool down before hitting the Oscars red carpet with wife Priyanka Chopra. Dressed to impress in a velvet double-breasted suit, the actor took to his handle to share a video of himself sipping on a glass of water.

The hunk shut down any possibility of controversy that surrounded him earlier this awards season, clarifying that fans should not be concerned if he was seen stepping outside during a ceremony.“If you see me drinking water outside of the Oscars, it’s because it’s 85 degrees in Los Angeles today,” he joked.

The singer-actor sparked conversation on social media after he was seen briefly stepping out of the Golden Globe Awards ceremony early this year, to sip water.

However, the moment soon went viral, that led fans to express concern. Jonas appeared to put the rumours to rest ahead of the 98th Academy Awards with his cheeky post. However, fans noted that the singer was wearing a Kalava, a sacred red and yellow cotton thread traditionally tied around the wrist, adding a subtle cultural touch to his look. Desi fans gushed about their ‘jiju’ sticking to Indian customs and rituals, knowing that this was an important day for his wife. A fan wrote, “Till yesterday Nick hadn’t that red/yellow thread on his wrist. Tonight is an important night for Priyanka and he is wearing a Kalava.
