FIR against 53-year-old for pushing cop

Pune: Faraskhana police have registered a case against a 53-year-old man from Mangalwar Peth for allegedly pushing a police constable at Gadital police chowky in the Juna Bazaar area around 1.30pm on Saturday.

The case has been registered under sections related to assault or criminal force used to deter a public servant from discharging their duty. The accused allegedly pushed police constable Prashant Turde during an altercation.Turde lodged a complaint against the unemployed man later in the night.Senior inspector Prashant Bhasme of Faraskhana police said, “The man’s 23-year-old son was involved in a crime. We had served a notice to him, and to discuss further legal action, we had summoned his father.”Bhasme added, “When the man arrived, he started threatening Turde and pushed him. He also created a ruckus inside the chowky.”
