The parks, ranging from 100 to 1,000 acres (25 acres in hilly and northeastern states), will be developed with ready infrastructure, including roads, utilities and factory spaces, allowing companies to move quickly from planning to production.Officials said the scheme will be implemented through partnerships between the Centre, the states and private players, with states expected to take the lead in sponsoring projects. “We are expecting the state govt will be the primary sponsor for parks under the scheme… but the private sector can also come in for development,” a govt official said. The Centre will provide support of up to Rs 1 crore per acre for roads, underground utilities, drainage, factory sheds, warehousing, worker housing and support amenities and more.
