Health minister opens mother and child unit at city hospital

The launch of Medanta Hospital’s Mother & Child Centre marks a transformative chapter in Bihar’s maternal and neonatal healthcare landscape. Celebrated by State Health Minister Mangal Pandey, this 500-bed superspecialty facility sets a new benchmark in health services.

Patna: State health minister Mangal Pandey on Friday inaugurated the Mother & Child Centre at Medanta hospital in Patna, describing it as a major step towards strengthening maternal and neonatal healthcare in Bihar.

“Medanta Patna’s expansion into a 500-bed superspecialty facility is a significant milestone for the state’s healthcare ecosystem,” Pandey said.The centre offers services ranging from pre-conception counselling and advanced antenatal care to safe deliveries and specialised neonatal treatment. Equipped with modern labour-delivery-recovery suites and a Level-III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), the facility also provides dedicated paediatric superspecialty services, making it a comprehensive centre for maternal and child healthcare in the region.
