A legal dispute involving Luka Doncic and his ex is getting more updates. The Los Angeles Lakers star is reportedly challenging where his child support case should be heard. Court documents filed in Los Angeles reveal that Doncic is pushing back against a petition submitted by his ex-fiancée, Anamaria Goltes, arguing that the filing was made in the wrong jurisdiction. At the center of the case are their two young daughters, who currently live in Slovenia. Doncic maintains that neither he nor his children are California residents, raising questions about why the case was brought before a U.S. court. The disagreement has extended the tension following the split between the former couple, whose relationship ended earlier this year.

Luka Doncic has formally asked a Los Angeles County judge to dismiss Goltes’ request for child support and attorney fees.
The case, he says, belongs in Slovenia, where the children reside and where he had already filed legal proceedings, per TMZ.
According to the documents, Doncic believes the California filing is misplaced. He described it as a “clear attempt to forum shop and avail herself of the generous amounts of child support for which California is well-known.” His legal team also emphasized that he had initiated custody and support discussions in Slovenia before the California filing took place.
The NBA star also highlighted his ongoing role as a provider. He stated that he already covers all expenses for their daughters, Gabriela and Olivia. In an earlier statement, Doncic made his priorities clear. “Everything I do is for my daughters’ happiness and I will always fight to be with them and give them the best life I can.”

The legal battle follows a difficult separation that unfolded over several months. Doncic confirmed that he ended his engagement with Goltes after efforts to bring his family closer during the NBA season did not succeed.
“I love my daughters more than anything and I’ve been doing everything I can for them to be with me in the US during the season, but that hasn’t been possible, so I recently made the tough decision to end my engagement,” he said. The situation grew more complicated around the birth of their second child in Slovenia. Doncic described that period as emotionally intense. “I was there for the birth of my daughter, so that means everything to me.
But it was definitely a roller coaster,” he said, adding, “I don’t even know how to describe it. It was a lot.”Their relationship dates back to their teenage years, with the couple meeting at a young age and later building a family together. Now, with legal proceedings underway across continents, the focus remains on custody, jurisdiction, and the future arrangement for their children.
