Hazaribag: The district administration has asked various akhara committees to change the settings of their respective WhatsApp groups to ‘admin only’ to prevent circulation of fake news and rumour-mongering during the upcoming Ram Navami processions later this week.
The move, officials said, is aimed at maintaining law and order during the festival.Ram Navami processionDeputy commissioner Sashi Prakash Singh, who chaired meeting with all akharas along with SP Anjani Anjan on Sunday evening, said it must be collectively ensured that unverified news or information goes viral on WhatsApp or other social media platforms. Singh further said songs which stoke tension should not be played.Anjan said special caution be exercised while using traditional arms during the procession as it poses risk of injuries to the participants.
