Marc Mero has shared a very personal and painful story about his past marriage, and the moment that changed everything for him. The former WWE star, now 65, spoke openly during his talk on INSIGHT with Chris Van Vliet, explaining how he found out that his then-wife, Sable, was seeing someone else. What made it more shocking was who that person turned out to be, fellow wrestling star Brock Lesnar.
Marc Mero and Sable were married for nearly 10 years. During that time, Mero also adopted her daughter, Mariah, from her earlier marriage to Wayne Richardson.
But things started to fall apart in the early 2000s, especially when Sable returned to WWE in 2003 while Mero stayed home to take care of their daughter.At first, things seemed normal. Sable would call home every night to speak with Mariah. But slowly, those calls became less frequent.
That change is what first made Mero feel something was wrong.

Marc Mero said the turning point came during a moment of frustration. He explained that when Sable stopped calling regularly, their daughter would feel upset. That pushed him to react emotionally.He said,“Mariah wouldn’t get to talk to her mom, so she’d be a little upset, saying things like, ‘I didn’t get to talk to Mom today.’”One day, Mero tried calling Sable but couldn’t reach her. Feeling angry, he left a harsh voicemail.
Later, he regretted it and decided to delete the message. Since they both had access to each other’s phones, he was able to do that.But when he accessed her phone, something unexpected happened.He shared,“I got to listen to this first message, which was a male’s voice talking about their night before and apologizing to her. It was just really heartbreaking, like she’s with somebody else.”That voicemail confirmed his fears. When he later confronted Sable and played the message, the situation ended quickly.Mero said,“I played it, and she just said, ‘I want a divorce.’ That was it.”At that time, he still did not know who the other man was. According to him, Sable never revealed the identity during their marriage.It was only later that he found out the person was Brock Lesnar. After their divorce in 2004, Sable went on to marry Lesnar in 2006. The couple later had two sons and mostly stayed away from the public eye, except for occasional appearances.Looking back now, Mero says he has moved on and holds no anger.He said,“When they mention her name, I don’t get angry anymore. And I wish them the best. They’ve got great kids, and my life couldn’t be better.”Since then, Mero has also moved forward in his personal life. He remarried in 2009, later separated, and then married again in December last year in a private ceremony.
