Joe Rogan rarely finds himself aligned with pop culture’s most devoted fan bases, which is why his recent comments on Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce stood out. Speaking on his widely followed podcast shortly after the couple’s red carpet appearance at the iHeartRadio Music Awards, Rogan offered a perspective that cut against expectations.
At a time when Swift’s every move invites scrutiny and Kelce’s profile continues to rise beyond football, Rogan’s remarks carried weight. He did not lean into cynicism. Instead, he pushed back on dismissive takes about Swift while also acknowledging the intense spotlight surrounding their relationship.
Joe Rogan pushes back on criticism of Taylor Swift ’s music
Joe Rogan’s audience does not naturally overlap with Taylor Swift’s, which made his defense feel more pointed.
His show remains one of the most downloaded podcasts globally, giving his opinions reach far beyond casual conversation. Yet when the topic turned to Swift’s catalog, Rogan spoke less like a critic and more like a listener who had grown tired of easy dismissals.“People are so weird when they want to say something sucks. I was having an argument with someone who goes, ‘Taylor Swift’s all dumb music.’ I said, ‘No, it’s not! She’s got some great songs.
‘No Body, No Crime’ is a f****** great song,’” Rogan said on the podcast.

He did not stop there. Rogan questioned the mindset behind sweeping criticism, pointing to Swift’s global appeal as evidence that the conversation is often more about perception than substance.“Do you think you’re smarter than everybody who loves her?” he asked. “She literally has more fans than anybody alive, and you think they’re all wrong? That’s kind of crazy.
You don’t have to like it, but people can be so closed-minded.”It was a simple argument, but one that landed because of who delivered it.
Joe Rogan gives a grounded view of Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce relationship
Rogan also turned to the relationship itself, and here his tone shifted. The humor remained, especially with guest Jeff Ross, but there was a clear recognition of the pressure that comes with a public romance of this scale.“It’s interesting when you have a public relationship like that — two super-famous people.
That’s a lot of pressure. You’re putting it all out there for the world, and everybody’s judging you. It’s hard enough to keep a relationship together without having to field everyone’s opinions,” Rogan said. “They’re doing it all in front of the world, inviting the worst people to have opinions about them. That’s a lot of pressure.
”Ross, leaning into his usual style, added, “I wonder when they make love if they wear helmets — those two.
It’s got to be wild, Travis and Taylor.”Rogan answered in kind, saying he hoped the couple were “so sweet and passionate,” while joking they might wear “shoulder pads. Cleats.”The exchange mixed humor with a rare note of empathy, reflecting how even unlikely voices can find common ground when the spotlight grows too bright.
