Dhanbad: Indian Institute of Technology (Indian School of Mines) Dhanbad has once again reaffirmed its academic excellence by emerging as the top-ranked institution in India for Mineral and Mining Engineering in the QS World University Rankings by Subject 2026.The institute secured the 21st position globally, maintaining its leadership in the discipline.The QS world university rankings provide a widely recognised comprehensive and comparative analysis of global higher education institutions based on metrix like academic reputation, employer reputation and research impact.The institute also delivered a strong performance in petroleum engineering, where it ranked 4th in India and was placed in the 151–175 global rank band.
