Residents of Chettipatty near Krishnagiri threaten to boycott TN assembly election

KRISHNAGIRI: Residents of Chettipatty in Krishnagiri district have threatened to boycott the April 23 assembly election to protest what they said the govt’s failure to provide them basic facilities.

The residents erected a board at the entrance of the village stating that they would boycott the elections. More than 200 families live in the village in Periyakottakulam panchayat.

“There is no school, no drinking water facility, no cemetery and no streetlight in the village. Students suffer as there is no proper road and no transportation facility,” a villager said. The residents said they would not allow any candidate to enter the village seeking votes.
