At 93, Arnavaz Contractor was active and self-reliant, until she started experiencing a constant severe lower back pain radiating down her legs. Standing for long was painful and she needed support even to take a few steps.

Gradually, she needed assistance most of the time.
“That was the hardest part. Not the pain, but needing someone around me always,” she said.
