Waiter held for murder bid on Vagator resort manager

Mapusa: A 35-year-old waiter was arrested by the Anjuna police for allegedly attempting to murder the manager of a resort by stabbing him in the neck at Vagator following a heated argument on Monday afternoon.According to the police, Mohammad Ashraf, a native of Uttam Nagar, West Delhi, was employed at White Flower Cottages. Around 4.10pm, Ashraf had a spat with the resort manager Sunil Singh, 34, while they were in the vicinity of the bar counter.As the argument escalated, Ashraf allegedly grabbed a knife from the bar counter and stabbed Singh in the neck with the intention to kill him, police said.The assault resulted in severe, profuse bleeding. Staff members present at the spot immediately intervened, overpowered Ashraf, and disarmed him before further harm could be done.Acting on a complaint filed by the business owner, Md Belal following the incident, the Anjuna police registered a case against Ashraf.PSI Nitesh Shingadi is investigating further.
