If NDA comes to power in Tamil Nadu, it won’t hesitate to rename state ‘Dakshin Pradesh’: MK Stalin

TRICHY: Tamil Nadu chief minister and DMK president MK Stalin on Wednesday campaigned for the Secular Progressive Alliance (SPA) candidates contesting in nine Assembly segments in Trichy district.

Stating that the return of DMK to power is essential to sustain and steer TN’s growth, Stalin said that people should gift the AIADMK-BJP alliance yet another defeat in the Assembly election.

Stalin accused AIADMK and PMK of betraying minorities and Sri Lankan Tamils by supporting and helping the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) to be passed in the Rajya Sabha.“(Edappadi) Palanisami defended and claimed that CAA did not affect anyone, but when he needed minority votes while contesting alone in 2024 (Lok Sabha election), he flipped and staged a drama by terming CAA as a historical blunder.

I question him now, dear opposition leader Palanisami, do you support or oppose CAA now? If you have the courage, state it openly,” Stalin said. He added that the list of betrayals by Palanisami includes his support for the BJP’s three farm laws and passing slanderous remarks on farmers.

By allying with BJP, Stalin said that Palaniswami has become BJP’s footrest and a complete ‘sanghi’. He also questioned if AIADMK is the leader of the alliance, why minor political parties are contesting on BJP’s lotus symbol and not on AIADMK’s two leaves.

“Palaniswami is saying there is no trouble in their alliance, but why did all political parties have talks with BJP? It is like the famous comical dialogue in our superstar’s Padayappa movie, ‘Mappillai avar than aana avar pottrukka sattai enthu’ (he is the groom, but he is wearing my dress),” Stalin said. He added that Prime Minister Modi often talks about forming NDA govt in TN, and neither mentioned making EPS CM nor uttered the name of AIADMK.

“DMK should form the govt for the seventh time, Dravidian model govt should continue. If NDA and their slaves, AIADMK, come to power, they will bring unimaginable plights to the state. Tamil Nadu should remain as Tamil Nadu and should not become a violent ground like Uttar Pradesh and Manipur.

If they (NDA) come to power, they will not even hesitate to change the name of Tamil Nadu to Dakshina Pradesh. To stop them, entire Tamil Nadu must rally as one and reject the BJP-AIADMK alliance. Dravidian model engine is a super-fast engine, and it will not lower its head before BJP’s dappa model engine,” DMK president MK Stalin said at a Trichy public meeting. Earlier, he campaigned in Trichy’s Gandhi Market area with candidates KN Nehru, Anbil Mahesh Poyyamozhi and Inigo Irudayaraj.
