Panaji: A Merces court has issued a non-bailable warrant against Ponda AAP candidate Gitesh Naik in a five-year-old cheque bounce case of Rs 5 lakh. The court observed that he failed to be present for almost two years in the case.
His advocate filed an application seeking exemption from hearing, but the court observed that Naik failed to remain present before the court since April 8, 2024.The court, observing that the matter is three years old and that no reason is mentioned for his absence, rejected his application. The complainant in the case is Shamsunder Mirajkar. The case has been listed against on May 8.
