Chicago Bears might acquire former Detroit Lions ’ star player, Taylor Decker
While the Chicago Bears performed well as compared to the 2024 season, it seems the team might be looking into acquiring the former Detroit Lions’ star player, Taylor Decker.
A few days ago, Bleacher Report’s Kristopher Knox predicted that there is a possibility that the Chicago Bears could acquire Taylor Decker soon.Bleacher Report’s Kristopher Knox noted in a recent report, “The Chicago Bears parted with former starting left tackle Braxton Jones, and while they did re-sign Theo Benedet, he isn’t exactly a high-level starter.
Pro Football Focus graded Benedet 72nd overall among tackles in 2025.”Kristopher Knox added, “Chicago also employs former Lions offensive coordinator Ben Johnson as its head coach. Decker would be a terrific fit at left tackle, even if he’s only a bridge to a player drafted later this month.”However, the Chicago Bears have stayed away from the speculations as Taylor Decker has also remained silent. While Taylor Decker has been a strong player, he has battled with a number of serious injuries in the last few seasons.
In the 2024 season, Taylor Decker earned a Pro Bowl nod as he appeared in 14 games with a number of injuries. This included a right pec strain, a right rotator cuff injury, and constant issues with a toe.Though fans expected the former Detroit Lions’ star player, Taylor Decker, to perform better in the 2025 season, his performance declined as he allowed 3 sacks and 33 pressures, in the 14 games that he played in.While Taylor Decker continued to play in the last season, he was constantly battling a serious shoulder injury which kept him out of practice for many days. This led to Taylor Decker contemplating retirement for many weeks because of the stress that the game had put on his body.Ultimately, the 32 year old star player decided to part ways with the Atlanta Falcons a few days ago, as he shared a heartfelt statement about his decision.Though Taylor Decker’s performance can spark a debate, all eyes are on whether he will be able to return to the field in the next season.
