FARIDABAD: Haryanvi actor Anjali Raghav on Thursday withdrew her allegations against Bhojpuri actor-singer Pawan Singh before the Haryana State Women’s Commission, officials said, even as scrutiny of his social media team continues.Singh did not appear before the Commission, while Raghav attended the hearing conducted by Chairperson Renu Bhatia in Sector 12, Faridabad.Raghav said she no longer wished to pursue the case against Singh, noting that he had earlier issued a public apology on social media. However, she alleged that members of his social media team circulated her videos and photos in a misleading manner following an incident at a stage show in Lucknow last year. She further claimed that her mobile number and images were uploaded on pornographic websites, causing her significant mental distress.Raghav named three members of Singh’s social media team, including Bhiwanshu and Akash, and sought strict action against them. After recording her statement, Commission Chairperson Renu Bhatia removed Singh’s name from the case, while the three team members have been retained and will be required to respond.
The next hearing is scheduled for April 6 in Panchkula, with all those named in the case directed to appear in person, officials said. The incident dates back to August last year, when a video showing Singh placing his hand on Raghav’s waist during a stage show in Lucknow surfaced online, sparking criticism and trolling.Singh later issued a public apology, but the matter escalated after her videos and photos were allegedly circulated in a misleading manner, prompting Raghav to approach the police, the cyber cell, and later the Haryana State Women’s Commission.(With agency inputs)
