‘These sessions use therapeutic properties of water’In Gurgaon, water wellness activities are a hit. From sub-zero ice baths to aqua sound healing, the city has adapted to the lifestyle. Richa Mittal, CMO, Get Wet Fit Gurgaon, shares, “Water healing sessions utilise the therapeutic properties of water along sound frequencies. Each experience is unique and caters to different aspects of wellness. We have an aquatic fitness session conducted on aquacharge boards while floating on water, improving core activation and balance; and a guided meditation session on water, promoting deep relaxation and mental calmness.
”‘Younger people prefer ice baths but older people prefer sound healing’Delhi-based life coach Simple Arora notices a pattern in the kind of activities that people of different age groups lean toward. “Slightly older people are more drawn to sound healing or water sessions because they just want peace, relaxation, and emotional release. On the other hand, ice baths attract a younger crowd. They enjoy the challenge, pushing limits, and building mental strength.”

Ice baths test patience and help build resilience
Noopur Lidbide, Head of Content at Trove Experiences that curate weekend experiences, shares, “Ice bath experiences act as a discovery point for fitness enthusiasts wanting to try something new. It’s one of those experiences where you get to challenge or test your resilience, and taking the cold plunge through the experience feels like a sweet victory. People love to explore something interesting and challenging within the realm of fitness-related activities, and ice baths are a great way to explore something like this.
People come back for it, at times even when they want to introduce ice baths to their friends and family.”Building on an old science“Water therapy has been around for centuries, but our approach is a modern take on this ancient practice. We’re bringing it to the forefront with innovative experiences tailored to today’s wellness seekers. By adding an unstable surface on water, we are basically combining the benefits of ‘in’ water and ‘on’ water wellness,” Richa explains.
Noting the growing popularity in NCR and beyond, Simple says, “Sound has evolved into a structured wellness experience.
Today’s audience seeks clarity, logic, and the right understanding before they engage. People don’t just want to experience something, they want to understand it.”

‘Such therapy releases negative energy and stress’Physiotherapists also offer medically supervised aquatic therapy. When discussing the healing power of water, Minoti Sachdeva, who works at Aquathera in Rajouri Garden, explains, “The benefits are significant, though awareness of aquatherapy in India is limited… We use the natural properties of water – buoyancy, hydrostatic pressure, viscosity, and temperature control – to guide each session. This offloads body weight, reduces stress on joints and the spine, and allows us to target muscles more effectively.
