EC tells Calcutta high court: 26 SSC staff exempted from West Bengal poll duty

By: Srishti LahotiaKOLKATA: EC on Thursday informed Calcutta HC that the 26 employees of West Bengal Central School Service Commission have been exempted from poll duty.EC moved Justice Krishna Rao’s bench seeking extension of the SC’s Aug 31 deadline to complete the recruitment process as 26 out of their 35 employees were requisitioned by the ECI.The EC on Thursday informed the court that the appointments for first training were generated for 26 employees.But only two employees out of 26 attended the training. They informed the bench that all have been exempted from poll duty. The recruitment process is being conducted under the shadow of the 2016 school jobs case.
