KRC logs highest ticket checking revenue last year

Margao: Konkan Railway Corporation Ltd (KRCL) recorded its highest-ever ticket-checking revenue of Rs 28 crore in the last financial year, alongside gains in passenger traffic and operations.

KRCL ran 1,400 special trains and undertook multiple infrastructure upgrades across the Konkan corridor. It also generated 3.7 lakh kWh of solar power, saving around Rs 46 lakh.Freight efficiency improved after roll-on roll-off (RoRo) carrying capacity was increased from 50 MT to 57 MT. At Margao station, the Road-6 line was extended to ease loco reversal, while drone-based track monitoring was introduced to reduce maintenance downtime.Accessibility upgrades for persons with disabilities were carried out at Karmali, Thivim, Karwar, Murdeshwar and Udupi stations, including ramps, braille and improved signage. Executive and AC lounges are now operational at 10 stations, including Thivim, Karmali and Margao.
