Chatra: Police arrested a 48-year-old man and seized around 24 grams of brown sugar during a raid in Chatra district’s Beech Tola area on Sunday.Acting on a tip-off that accused, Birendra Dangi, was storing and selling narcotics from his house at Beech Tola in Gidhaur block headquarters, a team was constituted under the leadership of Simaria SDPO Shubham Kumar Khandelwal.
The team conducted a search at Dangi’s residence and recovered the narcotics wrapped in black plastic.Police have registered a case against Dangi under relevant sections of the NDPS Act.Gidhaur police station officer in-charge Shiva Yadav said the crackdown on narcotics trade will continue and strict action will be taken against those involved. “Police will take such action in the coming days to curb such illegal activities,” he added.
