Tulsi’s disappearance casts a pall over Mihir and Noina’s wedding, with Mihir refusing to proceed without her. Meanwhile, Noina grapples with a blackmailer demanding a hefty sum. Angad faces a harrowing ordeal involving Bharti and union disputes, culminating in a near-fatal accident. Police investigate Tulsi’s vanishing act.
‘Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi’ opens with Noina in the middle of a tense negotiation with her blackmailer, who has now raised his demand to one crore rupees. In a separate conversation, Mihir tells Noina plainly that he never wanted to marry her.
He is doing this only because of Tulsi, and he makes no effort to hide it.
The mood in Shantiniketan shifts sharply when Nandini arrives looking for Tulsi, and nobody has seen her since morning. The family begins searching. Mihir finds a broken piece of glass near the window, and something about it does not sit right with him. He goes to Pandit ji and tells him the wedding cannot go ahead without Tulsi present. Noina is immediately worried, but Mihir will not budge.
The family wonders if Tulsi might be with Gautam.
Gautam denies any involvement. The uncertainty settles over the house like a weight.Noina’s first fear is that Tulsi has somehow found out about the fake cancer. She talks herself down, reasoning that if Tulsi knew the truth, she would have confronted her directly rather than disappearing. Noina messages Tulsi, telling her the wedding has been postponed and asking her to call.
Shortly after, the blackmailer calls again with a warning: pay, or he will expose everything. Noina agrees to pay one crore rupees to buy herself silence.
The police get involved
As Noina steps out, she sees Mihir speaking with the police. No formal complaint has been filed, but Mihir’s friendship with them is enough for an informal investigation to begin. During their search of the house, the police find a note addressed to Tulsi asking her to meet alone to learn the truth.
Noina reads the note with dread, convinced it may have come from the blackmailer, which would mean Tulsi has been lured out deliberately.
Angad’s nightmare plays out
The episode changes to the more and more impossible circumstances of Angad at the Virani factory. He imagines what will happen if the truth about Vrinda comes out while Bharti publicly calls him her own. Angad confesses to everyone in the dream that Vrinda is his wife. Bharti leaves, takes a knife and cuts her wrist.
Angad gets out of the nightmare, shaken but still without a solution.Mangal and his friends end up kidnapping Angad before he can think properly, and confront him with charges of stealing Bharti and using the leadership of the union to his own advantage. Vrinda is an eyewitness to the fight, but she is too far away to make out what she is observing.Angad decides to rehearse refusing Bharti’s proposal, trying to find the right words to let her down without pushing her to the edge. He practises telling her he does not love her. What happens next is not a dream. Bharti hears the words and steps directly into the path of an oncoming car. Angad lunges and pulls her to safety in time. At the end of the episode, he has her in his arms, between one truth that can destroy her and a lie that is destroying him.Precap: The cops come to probe the disappearance of Tulsi.
