A few months ago, as Megan Thee Stallion spoke to Women’s Health about her trauma, she opened up about how her ethnicity might have led people to believe that she can tolerate everything.
Megan Thee Stallion said, “As a Black woman, as a darker Black woman, I also feel like people expect me to take the punches, take the beating, take the lashings and handle it with grace.”The three time Grammy winner added, “But I’m human.”Megan Thee Stallion ended up losing her mother in 2019 when she was in her mid 20s after losing her father when she was in 9th grade.A year later, Megan Thee Stallion accused her former close friend, Tory Lanez, of shooting her on her feet.This marked one of the turning points in Megan Thee Stallion’s life as she ended up losing a number of friends since many defended Tory Lanez.Megan Thee Stallion opened up about her life as she said, “Before I went onstage, I would be crying half the time because I didn’t want to [perform], but I also didn’t want to upset my fans…” The three time Grammy winner has been public about how her life had changed and she experienced intense depression.
To make matters worse, this also led the three time Grammy winner to experience a few negative thoughts about death as she often felt like a “burden” on people who loved her.
