Invincible’s latest episode, ‘You Look Horrible,’ delivered a shocking mid-credits scene teasing Conquest’s return. After a brutal fight where Mark seemingly killed him, a tense grave scene left fans guessing. However, this was a deliberate fake-out, shifting focus to the impending Thragg war and the ultimate threat to humanity.

The latest episode, titled ‘You Look Horrible,’ is now streaming on Prime Video and features a mid-credits scene that briefly makes it seem like Conquest could return.

The moment lands after a brutal clash that appears to end the Viltrumite villain for good. Instead of showing a comeback, the scene builds tension and then cuts away, leaving fans guessing as season 4 moves toward its final two episodes.

Conquest mid-credits scene explained

ComicBookMovie.com reported that the mid-credits scene in ‘Invincible’ Season 4, Episode 6, teases Conquest’s return before pulling the rug out from under viewers.

As noted in the report, Conquest had already survived one near-fatal fight with Mark Grayson after Cecil Stedman kept him alive in stasis following their earlier battle. He later regained consciousness and returned for another showdown with Mark in ‘Give Us A Moment.

‘ This time, Mark kills him in a savage fight, choking the life out of Conquest even as “his own guts were being pulled out of his body.”After the battle, Omni-Man buries Conquest and marks the grave with three vertical stones that symbolize the Viltrum Empire.

Later, when Mark, Oliver, Nolan, Allen, and their allies in the Coalition repel an attack from Thragg and his forces, the episode returns to that grave in the mid-credits scene. The music swells. The camera closes in. Then nothing happens.

That fake-out appears to have worked on many viewers, who expected Conquest to burst out of the ground and rejoin the war. Instead, the scene points to Conquest being dead for real this time.
