KKR vs LSG Live Score: Toss update

LSG captain Rishabh Pant wins the toss and opts to field first against KKR at Eden Gardens

IPL Score 2026: Winless KKR struggle to get their house in order

Even earning the first point in this IPL could not bring a smile on the faces of those in the Kolkata Knight Riders camp.

Despite the one point gained from the washout against Punjab Kings, the 3.4 overs of play on Monday highlighted some added concerns. Struggling to get their house in order, KKR opted to take some bold calls by leaving out Varun Chakravarthy and Sunil Narine. However, the outcome of that decision remained inconclusive, although it is likely that they will be back in action against Lucknow Super Giants at the Eden Gardens on Thursday.

However, another spell of rain is forecast on match day. A washout is unlikely to help the sides, both of whom are trying to get their campaign going.

After losing their first game, LSG did record a victory against Sunrisers Hyderabad in their last match but they made heavy weather of a rather simple chase.

In spite of having a number of power-hitters in their lineup, the team has not really fired on expected lines. Even skipper Rishabh Pant played an uncharacteristic innings, although in a winning cause.

However, both teams are sweating over the form of their overseas batters. Finn Allen and Cameron Green continued to struggle and got dismissed even in some 15 minutes of play on Monday.

The team might play Rovman Powell, who did not get a chance to establish his case in the washed-out game.

LSG’s top order too has failed to give the side the right momentum with Aiden Markram, Michell Marsh and Nicholas Pooran yet to fire. On the bowling front, injury issues have hurt both sides before the start of the tournament. While LSG wait on their leg-spinner Wanindu Hasaranga as he recover from his hamstring injury, KKR are hopeful of getting pacer Matheesha Pathirana soon.

KKR vs LSG Live Score: Head-to-Head

Overall, LSG lead 4-2 over KKR in six games, with a 2-1 advantage at the Eden Gardens.

IPL Score 2026: Five players to watch out for

Here are the 5 players who can shape today’s KKR vs LSG clash

Cameron Green – KKR

Cameron Green made headlines at the IPL 2025 mini-auction with a record-breaking bid of Rs 25.20 crore, joining Kolkata Knight Riders. However, he has had a slow start this season, scoring just 24 runs in three innings (18 vs MI, 2 vs SRH, and 4 vs PBKS) while batting at No. 3 and No. 4. Initially playing as a specialist batter due to a lower-back injury, Green has now been cleared by Cricket Australia to resume bowling, which could add crucial balance to KKR’s lineup against LSG.

Mohammed Shami – LSG

Mohammed Shami, acquired by Lucknow Super Giants for Rs 10 crore, has been in outstanding form. On his LSG debut, he dismissed KL Rahul for a golden duck on the very first ball, becoming the only bowler in IPL history to take a wicket on the opening delivery of an innings five times. He followed it up with a sensational spell of 2/9 against Sunrisers Hyderabad, including 18 dot balls. Familiar with Eden Gardens from his domestic cricket days, Shami could be a major threat to KKR’s top order.

Rishabh Pant – LSG

After a challenging 2025 season, where he averaged 24.45, Rishabh Pant has begun IPL 2026 in strong form. Promoted to No. 3, the LSG captain played a match-winning knock of 68* off 50 balls against Sunrisers Hyderabad, guiding his team to victory. His form and leadership will be crucial against KKR.

Blessing Muzarabani – KKR

Zimbabwe pacer Blessing Muzarabani has made an immediate impact for KKR, including a four-wicket haul against Sunrisers Hyderabad. He joined the franchise after an impressive T20 World Cup 2026 campaign, where he picked up 13 wickets in six matches. His pace and bounce could play a key role at Eden Gardens.

Angkrish Raghuvanshi – KKR

Angkrish Raghuvanshi has emerged as a versatile asset for KKR this season, even taking up wicketkeeping duties to improve team balance. Batting in the top order, he has already impressed with back-to-back fifties in the opening matches. Playing at home in Kolkata, he could be a key contributor against LSG.

KKR vs LSG Live Score: KKR still searching for first win

Kolkata Knight Riders are yet to win a match this season after three games. Their only point came from a washed-out match against Punjab Kings. Even in that game, they were under pressure early, reduced to 25 for 2 in just 3.4 overs before rain stopped play. This reflects their struggles at the start of innings.

With no wins so far, the team is under pressure to deliver results. They will be looking to correct mistakes and find a way to register their first victory. The match against LSG provides another opportunity, but it will require a strong performance in all departments.

KKR vs LSG Live Score: Prince Yadav emerging as key for LSG

Prince Yadav has been one of the standout performers for Lucknow Super Giants this season. In his debut IPL season last year, he picked up three wickets in six matches. This season, he has already taken four wickets in just two games. His economy rate of 7.71 shows that he has also been able to control runs.

Prince has been effective with his ability to bowl hard lengths and execute yorkers when needed. Along with Mohammed Shami, he has played a key role in LSG’s success in the powerplay. His performances have added depth to the bowling unit and given the team more options in different phases of the game.

IPL Score 2026: KKR rely on batting amid bowling concerns

Kolkata Knight Riders are dealing with multiple issues in their bowling unit. Injuries and unavailability have affected their key players. Varun Chakravarthy missed the previous match due to a hand injury, while Sunil Narine was unavailable because of illness. This has reduced their bowling options significantly. As a result, KKR have become more dependent on their batting to win matches. Their approach has been to score quickly, especially in the powerplay, but that has also led to wickets falling early. Going into this match, their batters will once again carry the responsibility. How they perform against a strong LSG bowling attack will be important in determining their chances.

LSG vs KKR Live Score: LSG powerplay bowling vs KKR batting

Lucknow Super Giants have been the most effective bowling side in the powerplay so far in IPL 2026. In just two matches, they have taken seven wickets in the first six overs and maintained an economy rate of 4.58, which is the best in the tournament.

On the other hand, Kolkata Knight Riders have shown intent with the bat in the same phase. They have a powerplay run-rate of 11.29, which is the second-best this season. However, this aggression has come at a cost, as they have lost six wickets in the powerplay. This sets up an interesting contest early in the innings. KKR will look to continue scoring quickly, while LSG will aim to strike early and break their momentum. The outcome of this battle could play a major role in deciding how the match unfolds.

KKR vs LSG Live Score: Weather watch but game likely to proceed

Rain has been present in Kolkata over the past few days due to a weather system stretching from Gangetic West Bengal to the Gulf of Mannar. There was a forecast of rain around late Wednesday and early Thursday. However, the match is scheduled for a 7 PM start, and conditions during match time are expected to be mostly clear.

This reduces the chances of major interruption. The outfield, though, may be slightly slow due to recent showers. Teams will need to factor in these conditions while planning their strategies. Despite the weather concerns, the match is expected to go ahead as scheduled.

IPL Score 2026: Pant anchors LSG batting with steady knock

Rishabh Pant played an important role in LSG’s last match, scoring an unbeaten 68 while batting at number three. His innings helped guide the chase, showing control and awareness of the situation.

However, his starts have been slow, and since the start of 2024, he has had the lowest strike rate among players in the first ten balls of an IPL innings. Despite that, he has managed to finish games effectively. LSG also have Mitchell Marsh and Aiden Markram in the top order, adding strength to their batting. Their performance against KKR’s bowlers will be an important part of the contest.

LSG vs KKR Live Score: LSG powerplay bowling sets the tone

Lucknow Super Giants have shown strength in the powerplay with the ball. In their matches against Delhi Capitals and Sunrisers Hyderabad, they reduced both teams to 26/4 in the starting overs.

This ability to take wickets early has helped them control matches. Along with Mohammed Shami, bowlers like Prince Yadav and Digvesh Rathi have contributed to this phase.

Against KKR, who have struggled at the top, this could again be a key factor. If LSG manage to pick early wickets, they can put pressure on the middle order. KKR will need to approach the powerplay carefully to avoid another collapse.

IPL Score 2026: Eden pitch offers help for seamers early

The pitch at Eden Gardens has shown that seam bowlers can get movement, especially in the early overs. This was seen in the previous match when Punjab Kings’ Xavier Bartlett dismissed Finn Allen and Cameron Green in quick succession.

The grassy surface allowed the ball to move and created problems for the top-order batters. This trend is expected to continue in the current match as well. Bowlers who can keep a straight seam and hit the right areas may find success.

However, as the game progresses, conditions may ease for batting. Teams will need to adjust their plans based on how the pitch behaves. Early wickets could once again play a big role in shaping the match.

LSG vs KKR Live Score: Shami threat looms large for KKR

Mohammed Shami will be a key player for Lucknow Super Giants in this match. He is coming off a strong performance against Sunrisers Hyderabad, where he picked up 2/9 and dismissed dangerous Abhishek Sharma and Travis Head in successive overs. T

Those same batters had put pressure on KKR in a previous match. Playing at Eden Gardens, Shami is expected to get help from the surface with his straight seam bowling.

The pitch has shown signs of assisting bowlers who can move the new ball. KKR’s top order, which has already shown vulnerability, will have to handle this challenge carefully. If Shami strikes in the powerplay, it could put KKR under pressure early in the innings.

KKR vs LSG Live Score: KKR search for balance after poor start

Kolkata Knight Riders are still looking for the right combination after a difficult start to the season. They have stuck with the opening pair of Ajinkya Rahane and Finn Allen but the results have been mixed.

There is a possibility that KKR may bring Tim Seifert back into the side to restore balance. Rachin Ravindra is another option who could strengthen the middle order and provide a spin option.

KKR’s problems are not limited to batting, as their bowlers have also struggled. Sunil Narine has just one wicket in eight overs, while Varun Chakravarthy is yet to take a wicket this season. Both missed the last match due to illness and injury but could return. With no wins in three games and a net run-rate of -1.964, KKR need to find answers quickly.

KKR vs LSG Live Score: Hello & welcome

Kolkata Knight Riders take on Lucknow Super Giants at Eden Gardens in an IPL 2026 clash where both teams come in with different form. Three-time IPL champions KKR are yet to register a win after three matches and are looking for changes to turn things around. Lucknow Super Giants, on the other hand, come into the game after close a win over Sunrisers Hyderabad.

The contest will also be shaped by conditions at Eden Gardens, where the pitch has shown help for seam bowlers early on. There is also a weather factor, with rain around the City of Joy in recent days, although forecasts suggest the match may go ahead without major interruption.

KKR’s batting has struggled so far, while LSG’s bowling, especially in the powerplay, has been effective.

Stay with us TOI for all the live updates, key moments and analysis from this match between Kolkata Knight Riders and Lucknow Super Giants.

KKR’s batting has struggled, making the opening phase important. The team has continued with the Ajinkya Rahane–Allen opening pair but could consider bringing in Tim Seifert to partner Allen. Rachin Ravindra is another option for the middle order, adding a spin choice as well.

The side has also seen limited returns from Sunil Narine, who has one wicket for 69 runs in eight overs, and Varun Chakravarthy, who is yet to take a wicket. Both missed the last match and could return, while the team may also look at Daksh Kamra, a young spinner.

Cameron Green, the Rs 25.20-crore signing, has scored 18, 2 and 4 so far and has not bowled due to workload management guidelines from Cricket Australia. He has continued to get backing, though Rovman Powell was included in the last match.

Lucknow, on the other hand, will take confidence from their recent win, with Rishabh Pant scoring an unbeaten 68 from No. 3. The side also has Mitchell Marsh and Aiden Markram in the top order, making their contest against KKR’s bowling unit a key part of the match.
