
In a surprising twist during Valentine’s Week, a video from Munger district showing a woman presenting her husband with alcohol has ignited discussions across social media. The scandal escalated with another footage of her brandishing a firearm, prompting a formal police report.
Patna: A Valentine’s Week video featuring a couple from Munger district went viral, triggering controversy. In the video, the woman is seen offering her husband a glass of liquor along with a rose.
The clip, shared on a social media platform, garnered millions of views before being deleted. However, another video subsequently surfaced showing the woman holding a pistol and lip-syncing to a Bhojpuri song.A complaint was registered against the couple and the licensed pistol holder. The man in the video is a businessman, while his wife is a social media influencer and beauty parlour owner. The video appears to have been recorded on Rose Day, Feb 7.
Further legal action is being initiated on the basis of the viral content, police said on Thursday.Munger SP Syed Imran Masood said, “The couple seen in the video was identified as Rahul Kumar and Kanchan Kumari, residents of the Kasim Bazar police station area. Rahul is a businessman. His wife, Kanchan, has 299K followers on Instagram. She is often seen lip-syncing and dancing to Bhojpuri songs.”The SP added that on Feb 7, Kanchan recorded a video in which she presented a rose to her husband.
She is then seen handing him a glass and a bottle of liquor. In the clip, Kanchan is also seen playfully slapping Rahul on the cheek, while he sits smiling and reacting to her gestures.Soon after the video went viral, another clip of the woman surfaced. In it, Kanchan is seen seated on a chair inside a beauty parlour, holding a pistol and posing for the camera. After both videos gained widespread attention, police registered a complaint against her.“Police received information about the video. After this, an investigation team was formed under the leadership of Sadar SDPO. The investigation team raided the woman’s house. The police investigation revealed that the pistol used in the video belonged to Vishal Kumar, a resident of Din Dayal Chowk, who holds a licence for the firearm. The authorities are taking action against the couple and the pistol holder. It was Vishal’s licensed weapon with which Kanchan made the video.
Action is being taken against all three persons.”
