Dave Portnoy has shared a strong opinion about the viral photos involving Mike Vrabel and Dianna Russini, and his comments are getting a lot of attention. Speaking on April 13 on FS1’s Wake Up Barstool, Portnoy said he believes the pictures were not taken by chance.
He clearly said, “Private investigator was definitely involved.” He explained that the photos looked too clear and too planned to be random. According to him, someone may have already known something and wanted proof. The photos, first published by Page Six on April 7, showed Vrabel and Russini spending time together at a resort in Sedona, Arizona. Both are married and have children, which is why the situation has become a big talking point.At the same time, The Athletic reported on April 11 that an internal review has started to look into Russini’s situation. Even though the story is still developing, Portnoy’s comments have added more questions than answers.

Portnoy did not hold back while talking about the photos. He said, “You don’t just get these photos randomly from far away, professional. Somebody was out to get these two, whether that was Vrabel’s side, whether that was Russini’s side.”
He also spoke about the claim that they were part of a larger group. Portnoy pointed out that no one from that group has come forward. He said, “It’s quite peculiar at this point that none of these supposed friends have stepped forward and said, ‘Yeah, we were with them. Here’s proof we were with them.’”He then added, “I think it’s pretty obvious that maybe something beyond a friendship was happening here. … They’re both married with kids.
So, in that respect, very sad story.”For context, Mike Vrabel has been married to Jen Vrabel since 1999, and they have two sons. Dianna Russini has been married to Kevin Goldschmidt since 2020, and they also have two young sons.

He explained, “I’m sure somewhere they say, ‘You cannot cross the line with your sources. You can’t become intimate because then maybe you treat them differently.’ So maybe she crossed a work line, which will cause her to be terminated.”Still, he did not fully support the idea of her losing her job. Portnoy said, “She’s not dealing with nuclear codes. She’s not dealing with politicians. It’s football. Should you lose your job for becoming intimate with a coach? I probably don’t think so.”After the photos came out, both Vrabel and Russini said their relationship was only professional. But with an internal review now ongoing and strong opinions like Portnoy’s coming in, the story is still far from over.
