ED attaches properties of ex-bank manager

Enforcement Directorate Ranchi has provisionally attached immoveable properties worth Rs 92.97 lakhs of a former State Bank of India branch manager Manoj Kumar and his family members. The ED on Thursday said the attachments included a residential house in Sahibganj and a flat in Patna.

The ED said its probe is based on FIRs registered by anti-corruption bureau Dhanbad with Shikaripara police station. The probe revealed that Kumar while posted at SBI branches misused his position to execute hundreds of unauthorized debit transactions from accounts of customers, particularly deceased or inactive pensioner and Kisan Credit Card loanees. The total proceeds of crime through offences were around Rs 5.40 crore.
