As Jaya steps into her home, she’s greeted by a jubilant surprise party, but the thrills are overshadowed by the shadow of Rossi looming in her mind. Digvijay, sensing her unease, envelops her in an unexpected embrace while recalling memories of his departed daughter, Saavi, a reminder of the fragility of happiness.
‘Anupamaa’ opens with Anupama bringing Jaya home from the hospital. Jaya flinches at the darkness as they enter, but the moment the lights come on, the house is covered in decorations.
Banku has arranged a welcome with uncle and aunty, who have brought a cake. Jaya looks at it with wide eyes and asks if the whole cake is really for her. Uncle says yes. Banku asks her to cut it. Jaya refuses until Digvijay is back. She sets the cake aside for him, and everyone in the room quietly takes note.
The neck chain
Anupama pulls Banku aside and asks if he took Digvijay’s permission before decorating the house. Banku says Digvijay had already left before he could ask.
Anupama tells him they need to be more careful with Digvijay, who is carrying a great deal of pain. Banku notices Anupama’s neck chain is gone, and his eyes fill up when she tells him she sold it to pay for Jaya’s treatment. She asks him to leave it alone and moves on.
Jaya’s fear
The celebration continues with Anupama, Banku, Jaya, uncle, and aunty all dancing together. For a moment, it feels like a real home. Then Jaya sees Rossi. It is not real, but her fear is: she dreams that Rossi is coming to harm Anupama, and she wakes from it shaking.
Anupama holds her and tells her no one can come inside Digvijay’s house. The reassurance helps, but the fear has settled in Jaya’s bones.
Digvijay comes home
When Digvijay returns, uncle and aunty tell him that after a long time, his house is smiling again, and that if he smiles, Saavi will too. They ask him not to break Jaya’s heart. Digvijay goes to his room and comes back with a butterfly diary for Jaya. Her face lights up. She tells him she saved cake for him.
He pauses, and then does something that surprises everyone watching: he hugs her. Banku looks at the diary and tells Anupama to read it.
Anupama watches Digvijay and thinks quietly that, despite everything he is carrying, something in him is shifting.
Leela plays her games
At the Shah house, Mahi pulls Jassi aside and warns her not to let anyone manipulate Ansh away from his family, adding that Ansh is emotional and vulnerable. Jassi fires back, accusing Mahi of only remembering family when she needs them, and pointing to Gautam’s betrayal as evidence that Mahi has no business giving lectures.
Ansh walks in and interrupts before it goes further. Leela, watching from the side, tells Hasmuk she actually wants Mahi and Jassi to fight because she wants to see which one of them leaves the house first.
Hasmuk is speechless.
Rahi suspects Vasundhara
Rahi tries to ask Vasundhara about a call that came in earlier, sensing something is off. Vasundhara deflects and refuses to engage. She walks away thinking no one has the right to question her in her own home.
Rahi is left with an unanswered feeling she cannot quite name.
Prem’s restaurant
Raja is excited about Prem’s restaurant opening. Prem tells him it has not opened yet and asks Rahi to come with her team when the time comes. Vasundhara asks Parag to attend the opening. Prem tells her not to worry, saying once the restaurant is successful, he will find a way to bring Parag back.
Digvijay says something he has never said before
Late in the evening, Digvijay finds Anupama and asks about Jaya. She tells him Jaya is asleep but still frightened, and that she suspects Rossi is behind it, but has no proof. Digvijay listens and then says something that stops Anupama completely: he tells her Jaya is lucky, because not all daughters survive the way Saavi did not. Anupama stands there, stunned, with nothing to say that could possibly be enough.Precap: Rahi is excited to learn that Prem’s mentor, Anupama, has been assigned to inspect his restaurant for the licence. Anupama rejects the licence. Rahi turns on Anupama, accusing her of destroying both her and Prem’s dreams.
